Synchronated SWOS Website Now Updated

After much wrangling with ftp programs and such, the Synchronated website, which includes older updates and more info, is now back here, with a mirror here.

Everything in future will be posted on Blogspot as well.

Keep SWOSing!

  1. Hi Sync!

Great achievement, playing with it now!

One question; do I still need these files?

  2. Most of those files are part of the update and should be replaced by ones in the update. The ones that aren't in the update don't matter - you can leave them alone, they don't do any harm.

If they are my old files, or from an older update of mine, you won't need them - ALL the required files are included with v1.0.

  3. I uploaded the first version of a commandline tool to search/filter player in the database.
Tool can also export to CSV file

  4. I'm updating Italian Serie A and Serie B.
How can you change the number of teams?

  5. If you use SWOES by whiteulver you can change the number of teams in the executable (sws.exe, or swos2 in the Amiga version) as well as in the team data (by changing the division of each individual team). If you do both the same it will work just fine. Many leagues in the 11-12 update are a different size to the original 96-97 data.

  7. I've just sent You and email..
However, I've downloaded your updates but then I've put inside my file.20 (Italy) inside.
Serie A's come back with 18 teams.
I hope this won't crash in the career mode..

    ReplyDelete
  8. It will crash unless your file matches the real 11-12 numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  9. That is, serie a must be 20, serie b must be 22.

    ReplyDelete
  10. uhm what do You mean with 11-12 numbers?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I mean the real numbers for the current 2011-12 football season. So serie a is 20 and b is 22. Let's continue using just emails :)

  12. Sorry for the newbie question but... how do i incorporate these updates on an amiga version of swos 96/97?

    ReplyDelete
  13. on a real amiga forgot to mention...

  14. I have no idea how to implement this on a real amiga other than using a swos hard disk install on an amiga that has a hard disk. Maybe it involves preparing modified adf files then transferring them to real floppies somehow. You might find someone who knows on the forum at www.sensiblesoccer.de

  15. Hi,

I figured out a way to do it but now i'm having trouble fitting all the files from the update on a floppy disk (my A1200 has no hard disk). I've tried with RNC Propack but realized that the synchronated files are already packed so... Is there any files that aren't absolutely necessary like team.072 that i believe is for original custom teams? Thanks

  16. You can compare the data folders - anything that's not in the sync data folder is unnecessary for career mode, as is team.072. You have to replace the swos2 file too, think that's on disk 1

    1. Hi,

I had to leave a couple of other team files out as well (team.072 is one of them) in order to fit in one disk. I replaced the swos2 file on disk 1 as well. But i'm having trouble finishing the first season, it always crashes when showing results for Venezuelian league (odd because i have team.077 on the disk).
I'm playing with benfica. Can you help?

    2. Hi,
It seems that loading the original game (unpatched), finishing the season, saving, loading the patched the game and finally loading the saved game did the trick. Thanks

    3. Spoke too soon... after loading the saved file the teams are the original and not the updated ones :(

    4. Well i finally managed to accomplish the goal of finishing the season with the updates without crashing.
I leave it here for someone who, like me, doesn't have a hard disk and must use floppies. Since the whole update doesn't fit on a single floppy what i did was span the files on 3 floppies (yes 2 floppies didn't work, don't ask me why). When the game is finishing the season and seems to start hanging i just switch floppies and it eventually resumes. If someone needs i can give the exact information about which teams i put on each disk. Regards and happy gaming.

  17. Career mode crashes in Portuguese league, i accepted a job offer from a SECOND DIVISION team and game crashed. I'm using SWOS96-97 and there is no option to choose second division teams

    ReplyDelete
  18. There is no second division in Portugal in SWOS. I will check the data to make sure there are no teams labelled as second division; maybe that would make the game think there was for a moment.

Portugal league will always crash if you have not replaced your sws.exe or swos2 file, since 96-97 has 18 teams and 11-12 has 16. But if you replaced the files there should be no crashes at all.

Let me check the data file; that's the only way I can think of that that could happen. Maybe I'll find something. Thanks for the report.

  19. Ok thank you, i was playing with benfica and the job offer was from leixoes

    ReplyDelete
  20. That is bizarre. Leixoes should exist in the file, but it's definitely marked 'non-league' if so. I checked last night and, as it should be, all Portuguese league teams outside the top division are marked 'non-league', so swos should not have offered you the job. I will keep an eye out for similar crashes but I suspect that is an existing bug in swos 96-97; no part of the data replacement should have introduced such a possibility. Thanks again.

  21. Hmm yeah truly odd, btw i forgot to mention in my early posts, i'm using the sws.exe that came with the update, also, there might be two versions of the 96/97 game, if memory serves, some of the players were different in the version i had a few years ago and i could easily turn 3M players into 9M players. I'll check my older media to try and find the game.
